The ship limped forward on the water, dragged along by a rust bucket with less holes than their own. The stories they could tell. The sights they had seen - on all seven seas, and maybe more. 

But nobody would listen. They would just drag them along to another life - and the tales would drift away from them, like the flakes of paint they had already lost.
