With my own experience writing across different forms of media, from all eight episodes of audio-drama SEARCH Series 1, sketches for BBC The Social, short films with Pan Breed Productions, TV pilots featured on the Coverfly Red List and Quarter-Finalist of Shore Scripts, produced plays in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Greenock, featured writer in best-selling (and Stephen King topping) horror anthology and five independently published novels, I am excited to be able to offer this support to other writers. Since 2015, I have ran script development workshops with companies such as Wits The Script, Fresh Faced Theatre and Youth Theatre Arts Scotland whilst also having worked with Hidden Giants to inspire and work with primary school children.

Having benefitted from writing courses, workshops, script development and mentoring from Scottish Youth Theatre, David Cosgrove, Johnny McKnight, Youth Theatre Arts Scotland and the BBC, I understand how key these moments are in the journey of a writer.

Script Reading Service

With extensive experience reading scripts and offering feedback (through running workshops and producing the Toasted Fiction Theatre podcast series) as a fellow writer, I understand how valuable having scripts read - no matter what stage they are at - can be to the creative process. The Creative Lab Workshop

The Creative Lab is a space for writers to develop, create and write a script with weekly workshop sessions featuring creative exercises to develop your script, feedback on your writing, and above all dedicated writing time in a supportive, creative environment with instant feedback and readings with professional actors.

At the outset, a writing goal will be set which could vary from writing a complete draft of your script, a short extract of a play, the opening 10 pages of a TV pilot or feature screenplay, a complete short story or chapters of the novel you’ve always wanted to write. Whatever you wish to get out of the Creative Lab is up to you! At the end of the sessions, there will be a reading of the writer’s work with professional actors and each writer will have completed their goal and leave the workshops with a piece of writing.

The Creative Labs is a six-week block of workshop consisting of weekly two hour sessions which can be completed according to each participants own schedule, determined from the outset. At the moment, sessions will be completed virtually over video-conferencing. Additional sessions to continue script development are optional with rates discussed as per writer’s requirement with a six-month one-to-one mentoring program also available.
